The PI be completing his oral comprehensive exams required to advanced to PhD candidacy in two parts. The first part will be an examination on general astronomical knowledge conducted on March 1 In mid-April a colloquium will be presented to his committee and to the public on his dissertation topic, which consists of the proposed research. He will then proceed immediately full-time with the proposed research, anticipating an award date of July 1. Ideal observing conditions exist in the late summer or fall of this year, and time will be requested then. The balance of 1995 and early 1996 is expected to spent on data reduction, and the next two years until completion in December 1997 will be spent on modeling and support observations.
